We are delighted to announce that we are partnering with the 1st Crowborough Scouts to put on another Eco Fair and this time with a Barbecue. In line with our ethos, the Scouts will endeavour to source their food locally and will be providing vegan options.
The Eco Fair will be held on Sunday 1st October, at the Scout HQ in Whitehill Road, Crowborough starting at 11am, and finishing at 3pm. We anticipate there being lots of things to see and plenty of interactive activities to keep the children amused. Outside we will have a display of Electric cars and bikes – and you will have plenty of opportunity to quiz their owners. Inside the hall you will find, amongst other things:
- What the Forest Schools have been up to and how to get involved
- The Crowborough Community Orchard – with lots of activities to do on the day
- Demonstrations from some of the fixers from our monthly Repair Café.
- Sustainable Living in Crowborough will have a display of things you can do at home to save resources, energy and money.
- Information about the Crowborough Wildlife Group and how you get involved in conservation tasks to improve our local nature reserves.
- Volunteers from the Community Pantry
- Our Wildlife Group, sharing their stories of re-wilding Crowborough
- Exhibits from our local schools and sports clubs on what they are doing to help the environment.
This really is a special opportunity for so many of the parts of our Community in Crowborough to come together and showcase what they are doing individually for the environment, and perhaps to inspire you to play a bigger part personally. As our strapline reads, together we believe that ‘Taking small steps to make big changes’ and we hope that this will inspire many to take that first step.
